The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that hunters found skeletal remains off Tearcoat Road in Alcolu.
Maj. Kipp Coker said deputies and the S.C. Law Enforcement Division's Crime Scene Unit responded to a wooded area off Tearcoat Road in Alcolu after hunters called 911 on Sunday. The remains will be sent to the Medical University of South Carolina this week for autopsy.
