Southbound lanes of Interstate 95 open, traffic slow

Posted
The S.C. Department of Transportation is reporting Monday morning that a 16-mile stretch of Interstate 95 closed for more than a week due to catastrophic flooding has now opened in the southbound lanes. Only the southbound lanes from 119 to 135 are now open. Crews are still working on the northbound lanes. We are told northbound lanes could be opened either later today or early Tuesday morning; DOT officials say crews are working around the clock, pouring concrete and fixing bridge supports.
