Barbara Ann Georgia Moorer, 57, widow of Levon "Butterball" Burgess and wife of Tonnie Moorer, died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at her home, 1088 Georgia Lane in Manning.

Born March 2, 1957, in Summerton, she was a daughter of Norma Cantey Georgia and the late Clifton Georgia. She was a 1977 graduate of Manning High School and received a bachelor of arts degree from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg. She was employed at the Clarendon County Tax Assessor's Office for 26 years, until her health failed. She was a member of Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church, serving faithfully on the Trustee Board.

Survivors besides her husband of the home and her mother of Manning include a daughter, Tasia Myra Burgess of the home; a stepson, Mack Miller of Summerton; five brothers, Gene T. Georgia and Gregory Georgia, both of Manning, Tyrone (Tonya) Georgia and Rickey Georgia, both of Baltimore, Md., and Terry Georgia of Sumter; three sisters, Christine (Carter) Holley of Baltimore and Dorothy King and Elmarie McCain, both of Lumberton, N.C.; her father- and mother-in-law, Norman and Hazel Moorer Jr. of Manning; several sisters-in-law; and two step-grandchildren.

Celebratory services for Barbara Ann Georgia Moorer will be held 11 am. Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church in Summerton, with the Rev. Dr. William T. Johnson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery.

She will lie in repose for one hour prior to services.

The family will receive friends at the home.
