HopeHealth now offers endocrinology in Clarendon

The Diabetes Institute at HopeHealth, which offers the most comprehensive diabetes care in the Pee Dee Region, has expanded services to Clarendon County.

Board-certified endocrinologist Dr. Melissa Gonzalez Lara is now seeing patients in Manning. “Our practice is committed to providing excellent care to our patients. In addition to diabetes, we treat other endocrine-related conditions, including thyroid, pituitary, adrenal, parathyroid, and calcium disorders, as well as osteoporosis,” Dr. Gonzalez Lara explains. “Treatment is always individualized for each patient, and we communicate with the patient’s primary health care provider to coordinate care.”

About Dr. Gonzalez Lara:

Dr. Gonzalez Lara graduated medical school magna cum laude from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. Her residency was completed in Internal Medicine at Rutgers-Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She most recently completed her fellowship in endocrinology at University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, where she was awarded a certificate of academic achievement after graduation. She speaks fluent English and Spanish. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, The Endocrine Society, and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology.
