$5,000 scholarship available for Clarendon County high school seniors

Applications are now open for the 2024 scholarship program sponsored by the South Carolina Association of Counties (SCAC) Board of Directors.

SCAC will award four $5,000 one-time scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are residents of counties chosen by lot, and Clarendon County was selected in the 2024 draw.

In addition to Clarendon County, the 2024 scholarship program will be available to students in Kershaw, Laurens and Marion counties. Pickens County students are eligible to apply for the SCAC Presidential Scholarship.

The application deadline for all scholarships is Feb.1, 2024. One student will be chosen from each county for the scholarship sponsored by the SCAC Board of Directors.

Recipients will be chosen based on academic achievements, community involvement and the quality of their application essay.
