Camp Happy Days seeking donations for summer program

Posted

Dear Friends of Camp Happy Days, Camp Happy Days is back at Camp Bob Cooper this summer from June 29 - July 6. In honor of the 2024 Summer Olympics, our camp theme is Let the Games Begin! Each day our campers will experience exciting, confidence-building activities designed to create bonds of friendship and offer them the freedom to enjoy being a kid. We are hoping to welcome more than 200 campers to our camp home on Lake Marion.

For 41 years, Camp Happy Days has offered solace, encouragement and hope to families facing pediatric cancer. We serve more than 2,000 kids across South Carolina, through our year-round, cost-free programs. Camp was our first program launched in 1983, and it’s still the heart of our organization.

More than 5,000 children are diagnosed with cancer in South Carolina each year. With the support of generous communities such as Manning, Summerton and Clarendon County, we can work towards our goal of reaching every South Carolina family experiencing pediatric cancer. In order to continue expanding our reach, we need your help.

Bill Ellis has been a Camp Happy Days volunteer and advocate for over 20 years and has helped make camp a reality for hundreds of kids. He is seeking donations to fund this incredible, life-changing week for Camp Happy Days’ children and families. It’s because of the kindness and generosity of volunteers like Bill and our communities that we can en sure camp is cost-free to our families. Every donation helps us touch a family facing a devastating diagnosis of pediatric cancer.

On behalf of the children and families we serve, thank you for your considering a donation to Camp Happy Days. If you have any questions, please reach out to  cindy@camphappydays.com  and I would be glad to talk with you.

Sincerely,

Cindy Hay Johnson, Executive Director
