Two arrested in connection with Turbeville armed robbery

Two men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery reported earlier this month in the Turbeville area, according to the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office.

Nija’Ray B. Singletary, 19, of Turbeville, and Quvante Lee Pinesett, 23, of New Zion, were taken into custody following an investigation into an armed robbery that occurred Sept. 8 on American Avenue.

Both men have been charged with armed robbery, pointing and presenting firearms, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Pinesett also faces a charge of possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain crimes.

The Sheriff’s Office thanked the Florence County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services’ Clarendon County office for assisting with the investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing.
