Five charged in Clarendon County burglary investigation

Five Williamsburg County men have been charged in connection with a months-long investigation into a series of daytime armed burglaries in northern Clarendon County, according to the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office.

In a press release, the sheriff’s office said investigators had been looking into several burglaries in which suspects were reportedly armed with handguns and an AK-47-style pistol.

During the burglaries, authorities said the suspects stole multiple firearms, high-value jewelry and electronics.

The sheriff’s office identified the suspects as Curtis Mouzon Jr., 20; Alquan Bradley, 18; Meavis Morris, 19; Jyrek Wheeler, 23; and Jarvis McFadden, 24, all of Williamsburg County.

According to the release, Mouzon is charged with one count of financial transaction card theft, five counts of first-degree burglary, and five counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Bradley is charged with one count of financial transaction card fraud, five counts of first-degree burglary, and two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Morris is charged with two counts of first-degree burglary and one count of financial transaction card fraud.

Wheeler is charged with five counts of first-degree burglary and five counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

McFadden is charged with five counts of first-degree burglary and five counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The sheriff’s office said investigators were able to positively identify and arrest the suspects following the investigation.

No additional details about the burglaries, including dates or specific locations, were included in the release.

The investigation remains ongoing.
