Town of Summerton Mayor Tony Junious, 48, has died from injuries sustained in a wreck this morning. Junious was a graduate of Scott's Branch High School. He served as board member for Clarendon School District 1 and was elected as Mayor in 2022.
The Clarendon County Coroner's Office released the following statement:
The decedent was involved in a motor vehicle accident. He is identified as Tony Junious of Summerton, SC. He was also the current Mayor of Summerton. Family has been notified. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at MUSC. SCHP is investigating the incident.
