Reading just got more convenient

Posted

Clarendon County School District in partnership with the Carolina Family Engagement Center (Columbia, SC) will be promoting literacy throughout our county in a very unique way. Book vending machines will help educators/us get new books in the hands of our students. The book vending machines (Capacity: 300 books) will use a special coin to release the book of choice.  Each school will be provided a set of 75 custom-made coins. Your continued support will be needed to encourage and reward students with a coin for good behavior, academic performance, and/or school attendance. This movement is another collaborative way for our district to partner with community members and parents by building larger home libraries and continuing to inspire our students and their families to read and enjoy it. Books will be available for students in PreK through Grade 12.  We will restock the book vending machines monthly on the last business day of each month with the support of the Carolina Family Engagement Center, Save the Children, and other supportive partners.
