A Manning woman employed as a nursing assistant at a Sumter County care facility has been arrested after investigators say she repeatedly pressured a resident for money and failed to repay it.
Bonnie Jean Holeman, 41, of Manning, was charged with exploitation of a vulnerable adult following an investigation by the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, according to a news release issued Thursday, Oct. 29.
Investigators allege Holeman, who worked as a nursing assistant at the facility, repeatedly asked a resident for money for her own financial gain. Authorities said Holeman also ignored the resident's requests to be repaid.
The sheriff's office did not disclose the amount of money involved, identify the care facility or specify when the alleged exploitation occurred.
Holeman was arrested and transported to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office Detention Center. She has since been released on bond.
Additional details about the investigation were not provided in the release.
