Eagles claw Swampcats

Alex James, pictured, scored a two point conversion after a fake point after kick that proved decisive as the Florence Christian Eagles edged Laurence Manning  Academy's Swampcats 8- 7 tonight at Billy Chitwood Field. "A disappointing outcome," said LMA Head Coach Robbie Briggs after FCS ran out the remaining seconds to take the non-conference game. Mistakes, penalties -- some questionable -- and a missed field goal were cited as factors. "And we turned the ball over inside our 20 and you can't do that," he said. "That's it." The Swampcats, 4-1, will square off against Cardinal Newman in Columbia next Friday. Check back to Manninglive.com tomorrow for photo galleries of LMA vs. FCS.
