A 49-year-old Summerton man faces several drug and property offenses after a minor traffic stop on April 16. An investigator with the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office attempted that day to stop a white GMC truck which showed damage to its front bumper. "This vehicle description had been reported being sen in many reported burglaries," said Sheriff Tim Baxley. "The driver (allegedly) refused to stop for a blue light, which proceeded into a pursuit." That pursuit, Baxley said, ended at Furse Road in Summerton, after which Stacey Kyle Pritchard of Summerton allegedly ran into the woods. "A perimeter was set and the tracking team was notified," Baxley said. Pritchard was transported to McLeod Health Clarendon for self-inflicted injuries, Baxley said. He was later charged with receiving stolen goods, failure to stop for a blue light, possession of heroin and first-degree burglary.
