Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was furious that South Carolina fans were throwing bottles at his players in the first half of Saturday's Palmetto Bowl. During a halftime interview with ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe, Swinney expressed his concern for his players’ safety, saying the incident was “an embarrassment.”
“I didn’t know it was in the rules to throw stuff from the stands. I didn’t know it was part of the game,” Swinney told Rowe at halftime. “I’m just trying to protect my players.”
