ALCOLU – Michael Donald “Mickey” Thomas, Jr., 38, died Thursday, October 12, 2017, as a result of injuries received in a work accident.
Born January 11, 1979, in Sumter, he was a son of Dorothy Dale Gibbons Thomas and the late Michael Donald Thomas, Sr. He was a 1997 graduate of Manning High School, he attended Limestone College and he was a member of Clarendon Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother of Alcolu; his brother, Will Thomasof Alcolu; three uncles; an aunt; and several cousins.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2017, at Clarendon Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Lowder officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery in Alcolu.
Pallbearers will include Gary Rooffener, Eddie Mathis, Walt Ridgeway, Tim Thomas, Shawn Prescott and Shane Herring.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of Donald & Jeannie Hardy, 1240 Doral Drive, Manning.
