A Florida man was killed Saturday on Interstate 95 in Summerton after the motorhome he was driving ran off the road and struck several trees. Clarendon County Deputy Coroner Bucky Mock said Michael McBriar, 63, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, died at the scene, and an autopsy is scheduled for today at the Medical University of South Carolina. S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Matt Southern said McBriar was driving north on I-95 when the left front tire of his 2002 Holiday Rambler blew out near the 105 mile-marker about 4:50 p.m. McBriar was wearing a seatbelt and was trapped in the vehicle, Southern added. Traffic in the northbound lanes of the interstate was rerouted for about seven hours after the wreck. Witnesses reported sitting in traffic for about three hours on Saturday evening.
