Charles David Truett, 74, husband of Janice Charlene Williams Truett, died Friday, October 23, 2015, at his home.

Born July 29, 1941, in Darlington, he was a son of the late Otis Truett and the late Mamie Lee Howle Curley. He was a retired truck driver, an avid fisherman, he loved raising chickens and he was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of Manning; a son, Chris Truett (Gloria) of Shelby, NC; a stepson, Robert J. Stevens of New York, NY; two stepdaughters, Patricia S. Tobias (Edward) of Darlington and Chrissy S. Jackson (Don) of McClellanville; a sister, Mary Geist (Harold) of Columbia; a granddaughter, Cierra Truett; and a step grandson, Rilee Jackson.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charles David Truett, Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2015, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Kendall Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Clarendon Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Stephens Funeral Home and at other times at the residence, 1914 Camp Shelor Road, Manning.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
