The following alphabetized list includes 48 roads compiled by county officials which will remain impassable in the long term. The list was updated this afternoon to include Old Georgetown Road at Locust Way; Hotel Street just past Galloway; and North Brewington Road just off U.S. 301, which was previously on the list.
Please remain safe on state-maintained and county roads. Just because a road is not listed, that does not mean it's not safe. Obey all barricades. The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office will fine, tow and even arrest you.
Clarendon County Administrator David Epperson said the county Public Works staff began working on county-maintained roads Friday, and they will continue to work on them daily going forward. He said Greenville County sent a public works crew to assist.
“As these roads are repaired, we will be updating the map and list prepared by the county,” said Epperson. The map can can be accessed by clicking here.
Johnson said this list is subject to change and updates, and many roads will likely be added as assessments are made.
