Richard Johnson Jr., 76, widower of Dorothy Johnson, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015.
Born May 20, 1938, in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Richard Johnson Sr. and Mary Lou Hodge DeLaine Johnson.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Willard Space. He attended Clarendon County public schools.
He was a member of Greater St. Mark Church. He was employed as a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Phosa Johnson of Manning; 11 children, Alfredia Johnson, Deloris Johnson, Alvin Johnson, Richard Johnson and Frankie Johnson, all of Summerton, Edna Johnson, Richard Johnson III, Roshell Johnson, Wallace Johnson and Mildretta Johnson, all of Manning, and Micheal Johnson of Maryland; a sister, Tisbia (Harold) Gibson of Manning; 29 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Celebratory services for Richard Johnson Jr. will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Hayes F. and LaNelle J. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church St. in Manning, with the Rev. Dr. Leroy Green Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Manning Cemetery in Manning.
The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Rosell Johnson, 1474 Meagen Lane in Manning.
Services have been entrusted to Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning.
