Jerry Wilson, 44, died on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia.

Born July 25, 1969, in Alcolu, he was a son of Julia Wilson Epps and the late Albert Tomlin and James Epps Sr. He attended Clarendon County public schools. At an early age, he joined Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors besides his mother of Alcolu include a son, Jerry Wilson Jr. of Sumter; a granddaughter, Talaiyah Darby-Wilson; a special friend, Jacqueline Jenkins of Columbia; three sisters, Lillian (Michael) Jonas, Samantha Epps and Shirl Epps, all of Alcolu; six brothers Terry (Rose) Wilson of Sumter, James (Shema) Epps and Kirby Epps, both of Alcolu, Sgt. Maj. Phillip (Latoya) Tomlin of Fort Knox, Ky., Derrick (Linda) Hilton of Jacksonville, Fla., and Brent Tomlin of Manning; six uncles; and five aunts.

Celebratory services for Jerry Wilson will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hayes F. & LaNelle J. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church St. in Manning, with the Rev. Dr. Leon Winn officiating. Burial will follow in Manning Cemetery.

The family received friends at the home of his mother, 2093 Robert-Rees Durant Road in Alcolu.
