Summerton man who led deputies on chase denied bond

A Summerton man who led deputies with the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office and patrolmen with the Summerton Police Department on a car and foot chase Monday was denied bond Tuesday evening at the Clarendon County Detention Center. JaQuan Edmundson Quzack, 27, of 17 S. Dukes St. in Summerton, was charged Monday with resiting arrest, failure to stop for blue lights and driving under suspension, third offense, after a chase that stemmed from nine outstanding warrants related to drug possession and traffic offenses. Quzack was initially spotted by a narcotics agent on Interstate 95 after crossing the centerline about the 110-mile marker. The agent attempted to stop Quzack, who did not stop. Quzack ran a stop sign leading onto Buff Boulevard after leaving the interstate at Exit 108. Summerton Police Chief Ray Perdue pulled in front of Quzack to stop him, and Quzack fled on foot. He was eventually Tased.
