My name is Savannah Johnson. I am Miss Gamecock City USA 2024 and will be competing for the title of Miss South Carolina USA in June. I’m twenty-three years old. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in mass communications and a minor in criminal justice. Now that you know a little about me, I wanted to share my platform with you all. My platform is called The Johnson Act. It’s something that’s near and dear to my heart. My dad (Sparky Johnson) and grandad (Steve Johnson) were murdered at work (Wacammaw bingo) in 2019. Over the next couple months, I hope through people life stories to make people aware of gun violence and the impact it makes on people’s lives and bring change. I hope to make an impact and to help be a voice for the victims that can’t fight for themselves. Every story is important and their lives do matter even now.
