Dear Editor,
This is in response to Senator Kevin Johnson’s letter to the editor regarding retraction and clarification on “false FFA rumors.”
Looks like damage control and a political endorsement to me …
I find it interesting that the senator would be embarrassed that state agencies were contacted to make sure all was good with a program that benefits our school district. His & Rep. Pedalino’s job is to follow up on constituent concerns as well as the job of those state agencies to work with the legislative delegation. When a leader in the community thinks it’s acceptable to publicly condemn constituents for speaking their heart about concerns they have, especially when they don’t know the conversations that were had, that is what is embarrassing. If you think there was a misunderstanding, pick up the phone and talk to the constituent to clear it up and then make a post that all has been worked out. Just like he claims wasn’t done with the school district. Somehow though, I think this really boils down to embarrassment that the “consolidation” and the “integrity” of the school district leadership was called into question and that is a direct reflection on Senator Johnson.
Furthermore, the Senator constantly touts that he is not involved in school district business; and yet here he is, explaining school district business. I suggest that, if the Senator is working as hard as he claims he is; he may want to get to the people’s, ALL the people’s, business and let the school district sink or swim.
