Manning High School Marching Band Headed to Washington, DC

The Manning High School Golden Pride Marching Band will perform at the 2024 National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, DC. The Marching Monarchs were one of four South Carolina schools nominated by Congressman James Clyburn, the American Veterans Center, and Music Celebrations International.

“We are excited to receive this prestigious honor! It brings us great pleasure that we have been chosen to represent Manning High School, the city of Manning, and Clarendon School District,” said Mr. Jordan Jefferson, MHS Director of Bands & Choral Studies.

“Our students work hard and take music performance seriously on the stage, in performance assessments, in competitions, and in parades! The Pride of I-95 has a long-standing tradition of musical excellence.”

The National Memorial Day Parade will take place on May 27, 2024, and takes place in our nation’s capital on Historic Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Street before a street audience of several hundred thousand spectators. It consists of musical ensembles from each military branch, invited bands from every state in America, veterans groups, military and specialty units, floats, and VIP’s. The parade is broadcast annually on Discovery’s Military Channel and worldwide to American troops on the Pentagon Channel.
