Law enforcement officials are asking for the public’s help locating a man wanted in connection with a June 1 shooting that left a 19-year-old injured in Orangeburg.

Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced investigators are seeking 33-year-old Rahmel Warren on charges of attempted murder and weapons violations stemming from the shooting.

“If you have any information at all, no matter how small you think it is – call us,” Ravenell said in a statement. “We need to get this individual off the streets.”

According to the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on Baugh Street shortly before 5 p.m. June 1. Investigators said a 19-year-old male victim had suffered a single gunshot wound to the upper body.

Authorities said Warren is wanted in connection with the incident and remains at large.

A wanted poster distributed by the U.S. Marshals Service lists Warren as armed and dangerous and notes he was last seen in Orangeburg County. The poster states Warren is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 206 pounds.

The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to Warren’s apprehension.

Anyone with information about Warren’s whereabouts is urged not to approach him and instead contact law enforcement. Tips may be submitted through the QR code on the wanted poster, by calling the Orangeburg County Communications Center at 803-534-3550, or by contacting U.S. Marshals Service county liaison Deputy Sequoya Lee at 704-237-7890 or by email at sequoya.lee@usdoj.gov.

Authorities said all tips will be investigated as efforts continue to locate the suspect.
