Roberta Prince Brown


OLANTA - Roberta Prince Brown, 56, wife of Tommy Lee Brown, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

Born May 25, 1968, in Lynchburg, "Bert" was a daughter of Robert Prince and the late Janie Rose Prince. She attended the public schools of Sumter County. She was employed at Craig's Industry and the Stitching Post and Lake City Manufacturing. She was a former member of Christ Temple in Timmonsville and later joined Melina Presbyterian Church.

Survivors for Roberta Prince Brown besides her husband of Manning and father of Mayesville include two sons, Tyrone and Derrick Prince, both of Lynchburg; three sisters, Maggie Harrison and Terhesa Prince, both of the home, and Alisa Prince of Florida; a step-sister, Minnie White of Lynchburg; two brothers, Ronald Prince of the home and Robert Prince Jr. of Lynchburg; a special niece, DeNyjhia Prince of the home; nine grandchildren; and several aunts and uncles.

Celebratory services for Roberta Prince Brown will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at Melina Presbyterian Church (USA), 3539 Black River Road in Gable, with the Rev. Samuel Sparks, pastor, officiating, the Rev. Dr. Ella Busby as worship leader, the Rev. Mary R. Hagen as eulogist and the Rev. Carnell Hampton assisting.

Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery.

Roberta Prince Brown will lie in repose for an hour prior to services.

The family will receive friends at the home of her sister, Maggie Harrison, 4911 1/2 Woods Bay Road in Olanta.

Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning is in charge of services for Roberta Prince Brown.
