The Optimist Club of Clarendon is sponsoring the local Optimist International Scholarship Essay Contest again this year! Students age 13-18 are eligible. The winner is awarded with a monetary prize of up to $200, a medallion, and a certificate. The local winner is then qualified for the state competition, where the top essay writer is awarded with a $2500 scholarship. In 2019, our local winner, William Shaw of Manning, was the state champion! Deadline for entries is Friday, February 25. Information is available in the guidance office at your school or on the Optimist Club of Clarendon Facebook page.
