Motorcyclist killed in I-95 crash in Clarendon County

A North Carolina woman died Friday evening after a collision on Interstate 95 in Clarendon County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol and Clarendon County Coroner’s Office.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:50 p.m. Feb. 27 on I-95 southbound near the 123 mile marker.

According to SCHP, a 2020 Indian motorcycle and a 2023 Mazda SUV were both traveling south on Interstate 95 when the SUV struck the motorcycle.

Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell identified the victim as Carman Stallings, 57, of Whiteville, North Carolina. Stallings, who was operating the motorcycle, died from injuries sustained in the collision.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at the Medical University of South Carolina.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
