MANNING — The McLeod Health Foundation awarded more than $180,000 in grants to McLeod Health Clarendon to fund new equipment and technology aimed at improving patient care and expanding services.
The grants will support the purchase of a hyper/hypothermia machine, blanket and fluid warmer cabinets, Olympus camera heads and ureteroscopes for expanded urology services, a bladder scanner for the Emergency Department, a Sara Flex Lift, a Sysmex wagon, a Panda Warmer for Women's Services and additional infant safety equipment.
According to the foundation, the investments are expected to improve patient safety, increase clinical efficiency and provide physicians and care teams with advanced technology to better serve patients in Clarendon County and surrounding communities.
The McLeod Health Foundation raises money throughout the year through donations from individuals, businesses and employees, as well as fundraising events. Its mission is to generate philanthropic and community support that advances medical excellence across the McLeod Health system.
"The McLeod Health Foundation is able to invest in our hospitals because of the incredible generosity of our donors, community partners and employees," Elizabeth Jones, executive director of the McLeod Health Foundation, said. "Every gift, no matter the size, helps provide advanced technology and equipment that directly benefits our patients and supports the exceptional care delivered by our physicians and staff."
Scott Adams, chief executive officer of McLeod Health Clarendon, said the grants will allow the hospital to continue investing in technology that enhances patient safety and strengthens local healthcare services.
"These grants allow us to invest in innovative technology and equipment that improves patient safety, strengthens our services and ensures our team has the resources needed to provide the highest quality care close to home," Adams said.
