She was the youngest daughter of the late Thomas Richard Webster and Lorna Reed Webster Keogan. She was a retired licensed practical nurse, a 1967 graduate of Tompkins County Hospital School of Nursing and further her education to become a licensed respiratory therapist. Hobbies included her rose gardens, playing the organ at church, painting, ballroom dancing and, in recent years, karaoke. She was a participant in the first group to paint the Pine Island telephone poles, now a tradition continuing to the present day.
Survivors include a son, Michael (Darlene) Shaw of Lodi, N.Y.; four daughters, Debora (Robert Ingalls) Borning of Hyannis, Mass., Pamela Stephens of Manning, Karen (Dale) Updike of Trumansburg, N.Y., and Tracy (Ross Updike) Shaw of Lodi; a sister, Margaret Harmon of St. James City, Fla.; a brother, James Webster of West Monroe, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Diane Webster of St. James City; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Victor Keogan; a daughter, Susanne Shaw; a brother, William Webster; and a son-in-law, Randerson Ivy "Ranny" Stephens.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 7771 Stringfellow Road in St. James City.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Hope Hospice, St. John’s Episcopal Church; FISH; or Calusa Land Trust.
