On Monday, Sept. 11 at 8:00 a.m., the City of Manning had a presentation in honor of September 11th. The guest speaker was Chief Jonathan Jones, the South Carolina State Fire Marshal. During the ceremony, both Chief Jonathan Jones and his father, former Chief Carter Jones were bestowed the highest honor from the Mayor of Manning, Mayor Julia Nelson, with a key to the City. Former Chief Carter Jones was presented the key for over 40 years of service and 22 years as Chief of Clarendon County Fire Department. His son Chief Jonathan Jones received a key as well for his years of service and experience and appointment from Governor McMaster as the State Fire Marshal.
