The Manning High varsity boys basketball team welcomed the Region 7-3A leaders into town Tuesday night. The Bishop England Battling Bishops have only one region loss this season. In their last matchup with the Monarchs, they went on to a 50-43 win.
The Monarchs came out kind of slow and found themselves trailing by two at the half, 25-23. However, the third quarter was much different for Manning. They outscored the Bishops 22-18 in the quarter and took a two point lead of their own.
It looked as if the Monarchs were running out of energy in the fourth. Bishop England was able to hold strong on defense and only give up 11 points while scoring 17 of their own. Manning fought hard but the Battling Bishops proved to be too much. The final score was 60-56 and was Manning's fourth region loss of the year.
