The Manning City Fire Department held their annual “Ladies Night” Award Banquet at First Baptist Church in Manning on the night of Feb. 26. The guest speaker was Micheal Geddings Jr. of Sumter. Lt. Travis Floyd received an award recognizing his ten years of service, while Alfred Breedin received an award for a remarkable 50 years of service. The “Top Dog Award,” which is awarded to the volunteer with the most call responses for the year, was Jessica Weinberg. Lt. Matthew Cartledge received a “Beyond the Call of Duty” award. Firefighter of the Year was awarded to Byron James.
