OLANTA - Lula Mae Thomas, 71, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Born April 15, 1943, in the Olanta section of Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Corey and Carrie Epps Thomas.
Survivors include five children, Audrey I. McFadden, Tracie L. Thomas, both of Lake City, Shonwanda Thomas of the home, Calvin (Patricia) Thomas and Christopher (Brenetta) Thomas of Florence; a son-in-law, Joe N. Brown of Lake City; a sister, Carrie (Robert) Mosley of Florence; a brother: Edward Thomas of Baltimore, Md; a sister-in-law: Pearllie Mae Thomas; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The celebratory services were held Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Great Commission, 3503 Turbeville Highway in Lake City, with the Rev. Robert Mosley officiating.
Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery.
The family received friends at the home of her daughter, Shawonda Thomas, 403 S. Hood St. in Olanta.
These services were entrusted to Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning.
