Authorities are investigating the death of a 39-year-old inmate found Friday at Turbeville Correctional Institution in Clarendon County.
Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell identified the inmate as Larry Adam Wilson. An autopsy is being conducted Monday in Newberry to determine the cause and manner of death.
The South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC) said staff discovered Wilson unresponsive Friday morning. Officials reported no signs of foul play.
SCDC’s Investigative Services Unit and the Clarendon County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate.
Turbeville Correctional Institution is a medium-security state prison that houses adult male inmates.
