New Zion native Drue Floyd is entering her third month as Miss Clarendon 2016.
Manninglive.com will be posting these little blurbs throughout the next few weeks and months so readers can get to know her as she prepares for Miss South Carolina in June.
Floyd's platform is promoting Project Unify, an organization with which she has been involved for five years.
"It has truly changed my life," she said. "I hope to share with other schools in the state of South Carolina how amazing this group is. The experience it brings to students is truly life-changing."
Floyd chose her platform because she wants to teach others how to "accept those who are different," she added.
"Project Unify allows the best opportunity for students to interact with special needs students and allows a new relationship to blossom. What better place and way to teach someone acceptance than through Project Unify in the school systems."
