Edward Dyson, 84, widower of Mary Welch Dyson, died Sunday, December 25,
2022, at his home.
Born April 2, 1938, in Manning, he was a son of the late Abie Dyson, Sr. and the late Mary Virginia
Crews Dyson. He was a retired land developer and a member of Life Baptist Church in St. Stephen.
He is survived by a daughter, Lorrie Ann Dyson Kinard of Manning; a stepdaughter, Sandra Knight
(Phil Potter) of Turbeville; a brother, Robert Dyson of Sumter; three sisters, Carol Moseley, Ruth
Graham (Watson) and Gayle Pritchard (Dewey), all of Manning; a sister-in-law, LeAnn Dyson of
Manning; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Dyson and Abie
Dyson, Jr.; and a sister, Mary Linda Dyson.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Clarendon Memorial
Gardens with Pastor Alfred Willis officiating.
The family received friends immediately following the graveside service and other times at the
residence, 1153 Birch Haven Drive, Manning.
