Driver killed in single-vehicle wreck on I-95 in Clarendon County

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred early Thursday on Interstate 95.

Master Trooper William Bennett said the crash happened around 12:17 a.m. on Nov. 27 near the 119 southbound mile marker. A 2006 Toyota 4Runner traveling south ran off the left side of the interstate and overturned.

The driver, who was the sole occupant, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

The Clarendon County Coroner’s Office is handling the death investigation and will release the driver’s information once it becomes available.

The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
