A driver was killed in a single-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon on Salem Road near Burnt Branch Road, approximately six miles south of Turbeville, according to information provided by Lance Cpl. Brittany Glover with the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.
The crash occurred Nov. 16 at about 4:47 p.m. and involved a 2003 Ford F-150 traveling east on Salem Road. The vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, returned to the pavement, then crossed over and traveled off the left side before striking a ditch. The driver, who was the sole occupant, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released. The Manning Times has contacted Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell, who confirmed that details on the victim cannot be made public at this time. An update will be provided once additional information is released.
The collision remains under investigation.
