SUMTER - Donald Lee Roy, 83, husband of the late Kimiko K. Roy, died Friday, April 25, 2014.
Born March 17, 1931, in Cincinnati, OH, he was a son of the late Joseph Raymond Roy and the late Bessie Lorraine Horner Roy. He was retired from the US Air Force and the United States Postal Service. He was a Mason and a member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by a daughter, Kathy Lorraine Dick (Jimmy) of Albermarle, NC; two sons, Joseph Herman Roy of Charleston and Robert Lawrence Roy (MaryAnn) of Wedgefield; two sisters, Faith McClain of Dayton, OH and Patricia Walton (John) of Burleson, TX; four grandchildren, Joseph Roy, Melissa Roy, Jennifer Shealy (Tyler) and Michele Dick; five step grandchildren, Harold Dick (Becky), Bryan Dick (Amy), Gabe Brown (Amanda), Jacob Brown (Whitney) and Virginia Brown; and two great grandchildren, Luna Shealy and Wren Shealy; and six step great grandchildren, Guinevere Dick, Alex Beardsley, Andrew Beardsley, Connor Brown, Caroline Brown and Parker Brown.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, in the chapel of Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home, 515 Miller Road, Sumter. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11a.m. on Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home, 515 Miller Road, Sumter.
