Crystal Elaine Myers Gousby Singleton


SUMTER - Crystal Elaine Myers Gousby Singleton, wife of Ryan K. Singleton, died Tuesday, April 5, 2014, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born May 22, 1987, she was a daughter of Dwayne Gousby and Nichelle N. Smith, and stepdaughter of Ulysses Smith. She attended Sumter County public schools and was a 2005 graduate of Lakewood High School. She gave her life to Christ at an early age at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors besides her husband, mother, father and stepfather include a son, Ke'Mauri Singleton; her  mother-in-law, Doreatha Singleton; her father-in-law, Eugene Fullard; three sisters, Deanna Myers (James Woods), Jacquetta Myers and Breanna Mickens; six sisters-in-law, Monique Singleton (Falenceio Scott) and Tasha June, both of Sumter, Cherise Gousby of Lynn, Mass., and Kirstina Gousby, Christina Martins and Trinity Martins, all of Lancaster, N.H.; five brothers, Devonne Myers and Raheem Myers, both of Sumter, and Dwayne Gousby Jr., Kyle Martins and Eligh Gousby, all of Lynn; two brothers-in-law, Eugene Singleton and Kenneth Singleton, both of Sumter; two special cousins who were raised like a brother and sister, Lee Amos (Quinn) Wilson and Kerry L. (Famaya) Myers; an aunt, Deborah Wilson of Sumter; six uncles, Purdy L. (Helen) Myers, Prentice Myers, Christopher (Michelle) Myers, Morris Myers, Sean Myers and Andre Thames, all of Boston, Mass.; a number of foster sisters and brothers; her foster mother, Annie Mae Wells; and a special cousin, Marva McDaniel.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 11, 2014, at Salem Chapel and Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave. in Sumter, with Dr. Ralph W. Canty Sr. officiating. Interment followed at Walker Cemetery.

The family received friends at 407 Loring Drive, Sumter.
