The Clarendon County Democratic Party “will not” be having their regular scheduled monthly meeting on Thursday, March 5, 2020.
The Executive/Alternate Committee members will be meeting instead on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 7:00pm at the Clarendon County Administration Building, Council Chambers , 411 Sunset Dr., Manning, SC to prepare for the upcoming County Convention and discuss other important party matters.
The biennial Precincts Reorganization meetings of the Clarendon County Democratic Party are scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 10:00 am at your local precincts. The purpose of this meeting is to elect precinct executive committee persons to represent your precinct on the county level, as well as a president and other precinct officers, in addition to introducing and voting on resolutions that you want to become a part of the party’s platform.
All interested registered voters who will actively participate inthe Democratic Party are invited to attend a meeting at your local precinct.
The Clarendon County Democratic Convention will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 7:00pm at the Clarendon County Courthouse in Manning, SC. Registration for precinct delegates is from 6:00pm – 6:45pm. Jaime Harrison, the Democratic candidate challenger for US Senator against Senator Lindsey Graham, will be the guest speaker. We will also hear from state and local candidates seeking election or re-election. County party officers will be chosen at this time to serve for the next two years. Delegates to the State Democratic Convention, which will be held on Saturday, May 30th in Columbia, will also be elected at this time. Delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will be chosen at the State Convention.
In order to be a delegate to the DNC Convention you must have first voted in the Democratic Presidential Preference Primary that was held on Saturday, February 29th, attend your Precinct Reorganization meeting on Saturday, March 14th , attend the County Convention on Thursday, March 19th , and attend the State Democratic Convention May 30th.
