"Chill" with Manning Police Department

Posted

The City of Manning Police Department is bringing back “Come chill with us” meet-and-greets with Clarendon kids in August. Spanning over 6 dates, they will have them each Tuesday and Thursday starting the second week.

“We have been doing it yearly for the past few years,” said City of Manning Police Chief Keith Grice. “We were shut down due to COVID, but we are back.”

Each event takes place at a different park in Manning, and will operate as a way for children to become familiar with Manning police.

“We want them to be aware of who their police officers are,” said Grice. “Whenever they need us, they shouldn’t be scared to call us.”

Each of the police officers at the events will be volunteering their time, and each event will start at 6:00pm. There will also be Hot Dogs and Popsicles provided for the children and their parents.

The events will be held at the following dates and locations:

August 9 - Rex Josey Park

August 11 - Memorial Street Park

August 16 - 214 E Huggins Street

August 18 - Bellwood Park

August 23 - Manning Gardens

August 25 - Gibbons Street Park
