CCSD will host a “send-off” event Friday, October 28 at 10:30AM at East Clarendon Middle/High School for East Clarendon and Summerton area Project Unify students who will participate in the 2022 Special Olympics Fall Games from October 28 to October 30 at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina. The students will compete in bowling, flag football, volleyball, golf, and soccer. Te events will take place at different venues in the Conway area, while all ceremonies, celebrations, and dinners will be held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
“We are excited for our Project Unify students in the district to have the chance to participate in such a big event and showcase their talents,” states Kimberly Lineberger, CCSD Director of Special Services. “The Send-Off Event is something to see! We like to send our students off knowing they are lived and that we will cheer for them all the way.”
Students’ families also have the chance to watch their students participate and attend donner events for free as long as they have reserved tickets.
“we are always excited when our students can step outside the classroom and participate in events like the Special Olympics. This is a chance for them to go and represent our district and community,” said Dr. Keisa Carr, CCSD Direcotr of Communications and Community Relations.
