SUMTER - Carolyn Juanita Browder Childers, 75, widow of James William Childers, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born June 2, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Henry Burnice Browder and the late Lillian Ola Frierson Browder. She was a member of Green Acres Assembly of God Church and was a retired seamstress with Summerton Apparel Manufacturing.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel N. Childers (Cathy) of Orangeburg and William F. Childers (Ruby) Sumter; three daughters, Vicky Butler (Wayne), Sandra Watford (Ryan) and Angela Pate (Ray) all of Sumter; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; a brother, Henry "Buddy" Browder of IL; and a sister, Barbara A. Gray of FL.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, James W. Childers, Jr. and David H. Childers; a brother Gene Browder; and a sister, Debbie Lercher.

A funeral service for Carolyn Juanita Browder Childers will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in Rehoboth Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service on Monday at Stephens Funeral Home and at other times at the home of William & Ruby Childers, 520 Timmerman Street, Sumter.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
