A 58-year old Pamplico man was killed this afternoon in a two-vehicle accident on I-95 between Summerton and North Santee, according to Clarendon County Coroner Bucky Mock.
Around 2:15 p.m. on Friday, the driver of a 2015 Chevrolet van was traveling northbound on I-95.
"Near mile marker 106, the van struck the rear of a 2018 Freightliner tractor trailer, which was also traveling north," said South Carolina Highway Patrol Cpl. Sonny Collins.
“Richard McCormick died around 2:15 p.m. from multiple trauma,” Mock said. “McCormick who was wearing a seatbelt had to be extricated from his vehicle.”
The accident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
