Letter: We thank all of you who have helped Council on Aging

Posted
Keeping with the holiday season and being thankful, Clarendon County Council on Aging has several people we are thankful for. A few weekends ago, we held our first ever “Sip for Seniors and Silent Auction." We also brought back our Fall Festival as fundraising efforts to benefit our two Senior Centers and Meals on Wheels in Clarendon County. Contrary to popular belief, we are not a department of Clarendon County, nor do we receive funding/in-kind services from the county. Clarendon County Council on Aging is a nonprofit agency providing services to seniors older than 60. Currently, we have 92 Seniors that attend one of the centers, and 309 Seniors that receive Home delivered meals. Thanks to the following businesses and individuals who gave financially to the weekend fundraising benefit. Willie Bethune; Patril Brummel; Ruby Chambers; Cottingham Insurance; Genesis Healthcare (Olanta Healthcare); James and Viola Dingle; Don and Helene Ellis; Jenelle Harrison; Woody and Carol Haynes; Raye Honore; Charlotte Johnston; Aaron Jones; Chars Kennedy; Kay Kirkpatrick; Anders, Bitsy and Jamie Land; John and Marie Land; Lena Mack; Maree’s Beauty Shop; Alvin and Ruth McBride; National Bank of South Carolina; Enoch and Clara Nelson; New Zion Mini Mart; Jennifer Powell; Prothro Chevrolet Buick GMC; Mary Rose; Santee Automotive; Santee Leasing; Dr. Kate Smith; Dwight Stewart Jr. & Associates; the Walker Gamble Alumni Association; Walker Tire; and Willie Mae Williams. Thanks also to the following for providing items or services for the weekend festivities. Dorithene Bennett; Cut-N-Up; Farmers Home Furniture; Jearl Harrison; Harvin Clarendon County Library; Raye Honore; Michael Kelley Jr.; Mideastern Graphics; Monkey Grinder; MarLisa Nesmith; Francis Parker; Piggly Wiggly of Manning; Jennifer Powell; and Summerton Senior Center Quilters.
