Martin-McManus Wedding

Amelia Margaret Martin and Nicholas Hunter McManus were united in marriage Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Manning United Methodist Church in Manning.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lewis Martin of Manning, and is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Edward Gamble Jr. of Manning and the late Mr. and Mrs. Stamey Albert Martin of Lancaster and Mr. and Mrs. James Sieber Wellock of Manning. She is a 2016 graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in education. She is employed with the First Community Bank of Camden.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Henry McManus Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Barney Melvin Stokes Jr., all of Lugoff, and is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Martin Banks, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Henry McManus and Larry Alexander Robinson, all of Lugoff, and the great-grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Rudolph Wilson of Lugoff. He attended Central Carolina Technical College and is employed with Caulder Plumbing Company in Camden.

The bride's honorary family included Mrs. Ruby Samuel Wilson.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a fit and flare wedding gown with graphic lace over satin. The ivory gown featured an eyelash lace-trimmed, semi-sweetheart neckline, a corded lace hem and a chapel train. She carried a bouquet of white roses, pink astilbe and pink O'Hara roses. The handle was wrapped with a lace handkerchief embroidered with the initials of her Grandmama and her Pop-Pop.

The Rev. James Carl Adams officiated at the ceremony. Mrs. Kathy Owen Gatlin, organist, and Kelsey Taylor Wells and Austin William Veverica, vocalists, provided music for the ceremony.

Mrs. Sue Allen Jordan served as wedding director.

Wedding guests were greeted by Ms. Margaret Jones Gamble, Mr. James Edward Gamble III and Mr. and Mrs. Mayrant Jones Gamble.

Ms. Kate Gamble Martin served as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids included Paige Marie Ansley, Grace Elizabeth Briggs, Malloree Davidson Cothran and Brittany Nicole McManus. Claira Jewel McManus and Joeanna Claire Parnell served as flower girls.

Joshua Charles McManus served as best man. Groomsmen included Nicholas Tyler Edgin, Gary Lewis Martin Jr., Joshua Blair Raulerson and Chad Eric Rowell.

Joshua Charles McManus Jr. and Michael Scott Parnell Jr. served as ringbearers. Honorary ring-bearers included Jaxson Cash McManus and James Cothran Rowell.

Program attendants included Carol Ann Briggs and Robert Edward Briggs IV.

The rehearsal party was given by Mr. and Mrs. Barney Melvin Stokes Jr. in the Manning United Methodist Church fellowship hall.

The reception was given by the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lewis Martin, at The Drayton House in Manning.

After a honeymoon cruise to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple will reside in Lugoff.
