Cecil Chessley Langston, Jr., 81, of Manning and formerly of Elim, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 at his home after an illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2015, at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Elim Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2015, at Floyd Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Born in Florence County, he was a son of the late Cecil Chessley Langston Sr. and Ida Mae Davidson Langston. He was a retired electronics technician, a member of the Woodmen of The World, a member of Elim Baptist Church and attended Santee Baptist Church, and was a magician.

He was preceded in death by a son, Cecil Chessley Langston III.

Surviving include his wife, Letida Strickland Langston of Manning; two daughters, Miranda (Billy) Adams of Summerton and Myra (Jim) Jenkins of Sumter; a grandson that he raised, Kensey Langston of Manning; a brother, Guy Alton (Ann) Langston of Union; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
