The Clarendon County Coroner's Office has identified the man killed Saturday morning in a wreck on Interstate 95. Ralph Edward Sturgis, 60, of Brooksville, Florida, died about 11:55 a.m. Saturday after his tractor-trailer truck went off the right side of the road near the 118 mile-marker in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95. Clarendon County Dep. Coroner Charles Jackson said Sturgis died at the scene. Jackson said an autopsy conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina Sunday morning gave a preliminary report of "total body blunt trauma" as the cause of death. Sturgis' is the 12th death to happen on Clarendon County roadways in 2015. There were seven such wrecks in 2014.
